About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic Production Operative & Van Driver to join our busy bakery team in Sheffield, S4.

This is a hands-on role involving packing and preparing freshly baked products, including bread, cakes, pastries and other bakery goods, as well as delivering orders to local shops.

The successful candidate will help ensure all products are packed accurately, handled with care and delivered safely and on time. You will need to be organised, punctual and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with early morning starts.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Packing

• Pack freshly baked bread, cakes, pastries and other bakery products.


• Label, box and prepare products correctly for dispatch.


• Check orders for accuracy, quality and correct quantities.


• Ensure all orders are ready on time for scheduled deliveries.


• Handle products carefully to maintain freshness and presentation.


• Keep the packing and production areas clean, tidy and organised.


• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.

Van Driving & Deliveries

• Load and unload bakery products safely.


• Deliver freshly baked products to local shops around Sheffield and the surrounding areas.


• Ensure deliveries are completed accurately and on time.


• Check delivery quantities and ensure the correct products reach each customer.


• Maintain a professional and friendly attitude when dealing with customers.


• Keep the delivery van clean and tidy.


• Report any delivery issues or vehicle problems promptly.

General Duties

• Work effectively as part of a team.


• Follow instructions from supervisors and management.


• Work efficiently to meet daily production and delivery deadlines.


• Carry out other reasonable duties as required.

Essential Requirements

• A full, valid UK driving licence.


• Reliable, punctual and hardworking.


• Able to start work at 5:00 AM, Monday to Saturday.


• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.


• Ability to carry out physical tasks, including lifting, loading and unloading boxes.


• Able to work independently and as part of a team.


• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.


• Previous experience in bakery production, food packing, warehouse work or van driving is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.

• Pay: £12.71 per hour


• Schedule: Monday to Saturday


• Shift: 5:00 AM - 10:00 AM


• Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week
