About the Role

Top Tier Recruitment is currently recruiting an experienced HGV Class 1 ADR Driver  on behalf of an established client within the industrial gas and logistics sector.

This is a specialist driving opportunity involving the safe transportation, delivery and collection of gas cylinders between depots, docks and customer sites.

We are looking for a professional, safety-conscious driver with excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of transport legislation and a commitment to maintaining the highest driving standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport, deliver and collect gas cylinders across various locations.
• Carry out deliveries and collections at manned and unmanned depots, docks and designated sites.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and site-specific operating requirements.
• Ensure full compliance with Working Time Directive regulations, EU drivers' hours and tachograph legislation.
• Complete vehicle checks and maintain accurate driving and delivery records.
• Report all incidents, near misses and safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain excellent communication with the transport planning team and management.
• Operate a counterbalance forklift truck following training, including changing forks and gas bottles when required.
• Maintain high driving performance standards through vehicle monitoring systems.
• Complete all required site inductions and specialist training.
• Follow all company procedures relating to safe vehicle operation and equipment.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Valid LGV Category C+E (Class 1) licence held for a minimum of 3 years.
• Valid ADR qualification covering the carriage of gas cylinders (Class 2 gases).
• At least 24 months of relevant HGV driving experience within the last 5 years, operating similar-sized vehicles.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Maximum 3 penalty points on driving licence.
• No current or historical DR10 or CU80 convictions.
• No at-fault vehicle incidents within the previous 24 months.
• Good understanding of EU drivers' hours, Working Time Directive and transport legislation.
• Willingness to undertake specialist driver safety and operational training.
• Ability to work independently and follow strict safety procedures.
• Willingness to train in counterbalance forklift operation.

Training Provided

Successful candidates will receive additional specialist training, including:

• SMITH System defensive driving.
• Rollover and skid control.
• Counterbalance forklift truck operation.
• Site-specific safety inductions.
• Specialist operational and safety training modules.
• Training in vehicle safety, fatigue prevention and driver monitoring equipment.
