Fleet/Driver Manager

Fleet/Driver Manager (3618) Wexford, Republic of Ireland

Salary: EUR60000 - EUR70000 per annum

Our client based in Wexford are seeking an experienced Fleet/Driver Manager to join their team on a fulltime basis. The Fleet/Driver Manager will support the Operations Logistics Manager in the general running of the fleet of trucks.

Salary: €60k - €70k DOE

Location: Co. Wexford

Responsibilities:

• Manage drivers, fleet operations, vehicle maintenance and workshop activities.
• Oversee driver schedules, working hours, breaks, holidays and staffing levels.
• Monitor driver performance, behaviour and compliance, addressing issues through coaching, training or disciplinary action.
• Coordinate with planning teams to ensure fleet capacity meets operational demand.
• Promote road safety, reduce accidents and ensure compliance with transport legislation.
• Organise driver training, maintain training records and ensure standards are met.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality and distribution procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement in fleet efficiency, driver performance and operational standards.

Experience required:

• An appropriate tertiary education certificate / diploma is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Transport planning/scheduling role
• Computer literate, knowledge of computerised and manual planning systems
• Good geographical knowledge of Ireland and European countries
• Excellent communication and planning skills
• Knowledge of statutory transport regulations/legislation
• Must participate and pass all necessary internal training courses
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Organised, focused and disciplined in achieving targets and implementing ideas
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Practical approach to problem solving
• Full clean driving licence
